Elizabeth and Adam had their wedding on the family farm out in West Virginia. The property was was absolutely STUNNING, housing a mill, barn, and home that still had rooms so well preserved you’d swear you were back in the days of colony settling. It was an amazing mix of preservation and renovation, certainly award worthy. The wedding? Casual feel, with simple home made details, and lots of character.
Elizabeth was a bridesmaid in Marisa’s wedding years ago. So naturally I was thrilled to shoot this wedding, and see lots of familiar faces. Just like Elizabeth and Adam, Marisa and Joe’s wedding was exceptionally unique.
I haven’t even finished editing this wedding yet, but here are some of my favorites.

This weekend I spent many hours in the car, on my way to a wedding that took place on a family farm in West Virginia (more to come on that later this week). I never expected to see so much beauty along the highway’s edge. I was simply in awe from the time I left until the moment I got home.
Friday afternoon much of the east coast was hit with crazy storms that not only included thunder and lightning but also hail, in some areas. As the evening wore on the sun came out, the clouds started to part, and mist rose up from the valleys and rivers between all of the peaks and trees. It was, simply put, stunning.
I pulled over many times to gaze, and to also try to capture an image that moved me within the confines of the camera’s eye and my surroundings (billboards, signs, etc). The sun was setting fast, and the mist was starting to disappear. Thankfully, I found this gorgeous spot on a bridge along highway 78 in Pennsylvania. Hoping and praying I didn’t get hit by an 18-wheeler, I took this image, just seconds before the sun dipped below the horizon.

Hired models, fun outfits, photographer friends, and a day of playful image making = Shoot Style.
Oh, one of the models, Sarah (with the dark curly hair), has been in a number of Mad Men episodes! I absolutely love that show, so you can image my excitement when I found out

Megan and Jamie hired me on the spot about a year ago. They were a direct referral of two of my past clients, Kate and Chase, and Emily and Dennis. It was great to see so many familiar faces! Including Mr. PR Guy from Lexar who just loves to give me a hard time about being a SanDisk compact flash card user
I knew it was going to be a great wedding because of the connections to the other wonderful clients, but I really had no idea how FUN and SILLY Megan and Jamie are until their wedding day. Those two just love to laugh!
Congrats to you both!

Is a LensBaby!
A fun “toy” lens for pro SLR cameras. Great branding concept, when you open the box the manual inside says “Mama?” Adorable. I was fooling around with it late last night. Looking for anything remotely cool to photograph in my living room. Thought these bottles would be fun.
Side note: Clicquot (or, Klee-Ko) was bottled in Millis, MA decades ago. I got my hands on two of the old bottles when I lived there.

Went to NYC this past weekend with some friends to walk around, explore, and snag some fun images. What a gorgeous day it was, and so much fun. Here are two of my favorite things in the city: graffiti and industrial metal.

Gorgeous sun and comfortable early fall weather. Can’t ask for anything more!
Thank you to Alisa (a past client) for referring her cousin to me. It was so much fun to see the families again after many years.
Here are some of my favorite images from the day.

I worked along side the super cute Faith Dugan this weekend. I just love working with other photographers on weekends I have free, it’s always so much fun. Below are some of my favorite images. The private road we used to do most of the photos was absolutely stunning. Looked like we were up in the mountains of New Hampshire and not in southern Mass. At one point we had a couple of young deer watching us, which was really neat. And then to offset all the foliage we went over to a pier for a few minutes before heading off to the reception. A great day, for sure.

This weekend I went to Nantucket to shoot with a fabulous photographer friend of mine, Zofia. I have never been to Nantucket (gasp) so it was a great excuse to see the island and my photo pal. Of course, it rained almost the whole time I was there, thanks to hurricane season.
The below images were shot with my camera on the ground. Yup, in the wet grass! I wasn’t looking through the lens at all, so it was really fun to see what I had when I got home today. These are my favorites from the burst captured:

A mountain wedding and a city portrait session. The best of both worlds!
